Job summary

stafffinancialgroup is seeking a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer in Georgia to lead architecture, development, and optimization of advanced manufacturing automation systems. You will drive major initiatives, set standards, and partner across engineering, maintenance, IT, and MES teams.

The role requires hands-on leadership, 10+ years of experience, and strong PLC programming skills with preference for Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in controls or automation engineering.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in automation/electrical/computer/mechatronics.
• Proven success leading complex automation projects.
• Mentor engineers and technicians across the organization.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi PLCs preferred.
• Strong PLC programming expertise; cross-functional leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and optimize PLC programs using Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi platforms.
• Lead major automation initiatives, establish controls standards, and drive reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with IT, MES, operations, and maintenance to integrate systems.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEC, and related standards.
• Oversee documentation, risk assessments, and operating procedures.
• Mentor controls engineers and maintenance staff; train personnel.
