Senior Controls Engineer – Industrial Automation & Mechatronics
We are seeking a Senior Controls Engineer with expertise in industrial automation, conveyor systems, and mechatronics to join our Design & Build team. The ideal candidate has experience integrating conveyor systems with components like lift tables, rotate stations, and tilt tables, and excels in designing and optimizing complex control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Control System Design: Lead the design and development of advanced control systems for automated machinery and material handling equipment, emphasizing safety, efficiency, and performance.
- PLC Programming & Configuration: Develop and implement software for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems using ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of mechatronic systems, ensuring seamless communication between hardware and software.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Analyze and resolve system issues, improving reliability, uptime, and production performance.
- Project Leadership: Manage multiple engineering projects from inception to deployment, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and client specifications.
- Technical Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation complying with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Team Mentorship: Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians, conducting training to enhance team capabilities in controls and mechatronics.
- Innovation & Improvement: Stay updated on trends in automation, controls, and mechatronic engineering, driving continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in control systems engineering with proven results in industrial automation or mechatronics.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric).
- Experience with SCADA, HMI, and DCS systems.
- Strong background in mechatronic system design, control loop tuning, and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus.
- Experience with machine safety systems (e.g., Functional Safety, SIL, IEC 61508).
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Leadership experience, including mentoring and team development.
- High attention to detail with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Additional Qualifications:
- Exposure to advanced control strategies like PID and Model Predictive Control.
- Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB and Simulink.
