Job summary

Brightsmith is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to support large-scale power infrastructure projects for hyperscale data centers, focusing on SCADA, controls systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role involves design, testing, commissioning, and field integration with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years in controls, SCADA or power systems, plus hands-on commissioning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Approximately 6+ years of experience in controls engineering, SCADA, or power systems.
• Strong experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Hands-on commissioning and field testing experience.
• Experience integrating control systems and supporting startup activities.
• Proficiency with SCADA platforms, ETAP, AutoCAD, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and support SCADA and controls architectures for utility-scale and behind-the-meter power projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams throughout project development and execution.
• Lead field commissioning, system integration, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
• Support hardware integration, relay testing, and controls optimization.
• Analyze system performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Travel to project sites during commissioning and startup activities.
