Job summary
Fluence is seeking a seasoned Controls & SCADA Engineer to strengthen its Solution Engineering capabilities across the Americas. You will translate concepts into detailed designs, lead EMS/SCADA development, and coordinate with EPC partners and contractors to deliver safe, scalable energy storage solutions.
The role requires 7+ years in controls/SCADA for power utilities and travel to project sites; fluency with industry standards and security practices will be essential for successful
Qualifications
- 7+ years designing, implementing, and supporting controls, SCADA, and industrial networking.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Strong PLC and HMI development for renewable/utility-scale applications.
- Deep knowledge of battery energy storage, PCS, BMS, and grid integration.
- Experience with IEC/OT protocols and OT cybersecurity practices.
Responsibilities
- Serve as technical authority for controls, SCADA, and industrial networking throughout project lifecycles.
- Lead engineering development and oversight of multiple energy storage projects.
- Own specification, design, testing, and startup of Fluence OS controls and EMS systems.
- Develop controls architecture and integration strategies for BESS functionality.
- Coordinate external firms and internal teams to ensure timely, on-budget delivery.
- Define FAT/SAT strategies with teams to minimize commissioning risk.
