Job summary

Fleet Data Centers is seeking a Senior Electrical Controls Engineer to design, implement, and optimize BMS and EPMS systems across hyperscale campuses. You will lead PLC programming, system integration, and development of scalable controls architectures for central utilities, generators, cooling, and power monitoring.

The role requires 7+ years in controls engineering, with 3+ years in data centers or mission-critical environments, and proficiency in Rockwell/Siemens PLCs, EPLAN and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of controls engineering experience, including 3+ years in data centers or mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on PLC programming with Rockwell and Siemens.
• Proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD and controls integration methodologies.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and PLC-based controls for large-scale data center projects.
• Develop controls software, sequences of operation, architectures, interfaces, testing procedures, and commissioning docs.
• Create drawings, panels, instrumentation specs, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and integration docs.
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and optimization.
• Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and commissioning agents to deliver projects safely and on time.
