Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a motivated Controls Engineer to design, program, and maintain building automation and control systems across its critical facility infrastructure. The role blends hands-on field work with engineering tasks, ideal for someone growing from technician to engineer.

You will work with Central Engineering to keep BMS, EPMS, and equipment control systems running 24/7 in a data center environment, contributing to sequence development, commissioning, deployments, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, Building Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in building automation, controls, or instrumentation in a commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facility environment.
• Knowledge of major BMS/BAS platforms and control system communication protocols (BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU).
• Ability to read control drawings, wiring schematics, P&IDs, and data sheets; proficient with field test tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BMS/BAS controllers, field devices, sensors, actuators, and control panels with accurate documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve BMS, EPMS, and equipment-level control faults using front-end software and test tools.
• Navigate and configure BMS platforms (Ignition, Metasys, Niagara, EcoStruxure) including point mapping and alarms.
• Support PLC/HMI troubleshooting, PID tuning, trend analysis, and integration between BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and equipment control systems (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP).
• Execute commissioning activities including point-to-point verification, loop calibration, performance testing, and documentation for projects.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, LOTO, and change management processes (MOPs, CMMS).
