Job summary

Fluidstack is seeking a motivated Controls Engineer to support the design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of building automation and control systems across our critical facility infrastructure.

This is a mid-level role that blends hands-on field technician work with engineering responsibilities — ideal for a strong controls technician growing into engineering or an early-career engineer staying connected to the field.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, Building Automation, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years hands-on experience in building automation, controls, or instrumentation in a commercial, industrial, or mission-critical facility.
• Experience with major BMS/BAS platforms and control system protocols (BACnet/IP/MSTP, Modbus TCP/RTU).
• Ability to read control drawings, wiring schematics and P&IDs; proficient with field test and calibration tools.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70E electrical safety and LOTO procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BMS/BAS controllers, field devices, sensors, actuators, and control panels; maintain as-built docs.
• Diagnose and resolve faults using front-end software and test tools (multimeters, loop calibrators, clamp meters).
• Configure BMS platforms (Ignition, Metasys, Niagara, EcoStruxure) and integrate with PLC, EPMS, DCIM; adjust alarms and graphics.
• Support PLC/HMI troubleshooting, PID tuning, trend analysis, and system integration across BACnet, Modbus, SNMP.
• Execute commissioning activities and document point-to-point verification for new construction or retrofit projects.
• Ensure NFPA 70E compliance, LOTO procedures, and CMMS/MOP documentation.
