Job summary

Hendrickson seeks a Controls Engineer III to lead design, development, and implementation of advanced industrial control systems for diverse clients. You will ensure safe, reliable operation and collaborate with project teams to deliver robust solutions.

The role encompasses hardware/software architecture, sensors/actuators, and safety features in compliance with OSHA and industry standards, with field involvement and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or computer engineering, or a related field is required; a master's degree is a plus.
• A Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or a Certified Controls Engineer (CCE) certificate are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control strategies for automated systems, machinery, and industrial processes, including both hardware and software architecture.
• Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and industrial robots.
• Oversee installation, testing, debugging, and startup activities to ensure functionality and reliability.
• Create and review electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and system architecture.
• Prepare technical documentation, including user manuals, setup and calibration procedures, as-built records, and Bills of Materials.
• Continuously improve system performance for efficiency and reliability.
