Job summary

Hendrickson is seeking an experienced electrical controls technician to support wiring, plumbing, and assembly of industrial automation systems from order through installation.

The role requires reading schematics, building control panels to industry standards, coordinating with engineering and vendors, and ensuring timely project delivery. A strong background in electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls and at least 8 years in manufacturing is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Hands-on experience in industrial automation or electrician trade.
• Control Panel Building including layout design, wiring, labeling, and cable management.
• Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic controls, including plumbing, valve types, and schematics.
• UL 508a Panel Building Certification preferred.
• Electrician License preferred.
• Strong computer skills including Windows, email, typing, and ability to learn new software quickly.
• Minimum travel requirement of 20%.

Responsibilities

• Read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to order and assemble control systems as designed by engineering.
• Manage cables, hoses, and sensors during field wiring and assembly; ensure proper function on power up.
• Coordinate with engineering and the machine shop to communicate needs and provide updates.
• Build electrical control panels to meet industry standards and project deadlines.
• Evaluate components and suppliers to support engineering.
• Work with mechanical designers to satisfy all control system requirements.
• Balance multiple projects with attention to detail, timelines, and budget.
• Update schematics with redlines from panel build and assembly.
• Assist with BOM-based ordering of controls components.
• Obtain quotes from vendors for required controls components.
• Tend to organization and inventory of panel shop and control-related areas.
