Job summary

Medtronic seeks a Senior Controls Engineer for the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Sustaining team in Lafayette, Colorado. The role focuses on design, integration, validation, and lifecycle support of automated manufacturing equipment; onsite 5 days a week with cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead factory acceptance testing, oversee equipment suppliers, ensure safety standards, and drive improvements in reliability, throughput, and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4+ years OR Master's degree and 2+ years OR PhD in controls, automation, or manufacturing engineering.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with HMI development and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, integration, and deployment of automated assembly and test equipment for manufacturing processes.
• Define equipment requirements, specs, controls architecture, and project deliverables.
• Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC and HMI systems.
• Provide technical oversight of equipment suppliers and ensure compliance with timelines and specs.
• Lead factory and site acceptance testing, qualifications, and validation activities.
• Evaluate equipment for OSHA/ANSI safety compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve reliability, throughput, and quality.
