Job summary

ICU Medical in Southington, CT seeks an Engineer III, Controls to lead automation and controls improvements in manufacturing. You will evaluate existing control systems, design upgrades, and support validation and start-up of new equipment.

The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, developing P&IDs and wiring diagrams, and programming PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and robot controllers, while collaborating with maintenance and QA to ensure compliant production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience required.
• Ability to independently make decisions impacting project objectives.

Responsibilities

• Provide SME for equipment and machine control systems; lead troubleshooting.
• Analyze problems; identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Create/update P&IDs, wiring schematics, and I/O drawings for controls systems.
• Provide scope, FAT/SAT/start-up and validation support for equipment and controls.
• Develop and troubleshoot AC/DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and robot controllers.
• Support long-range replacement and short-range continuous improvement plans; lifecycle management.
• Ensure cGMP compliance and assist training of staff.
