Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Controls Manager in the Central Division based out of Kansas City, MO. You will troubleshoot and maintain PLC controls for PLC-controlled plants in the region and coordinate electrical repairs and upgrades with internal teams and vendors.

Lead skilled-trade staff, research automation upgrades to improve safety, efficiency and reporting, and support project startups. Collaboration with engineering and contractors, plus a 24/7 on-call rotation, is required.

Qualifications

• Adherence to Martin Marietta, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times.
• Highly skilled at troubleshooting 120V AC and 24V DC control systems.
• Have 3Ph/480 electrical troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with 4-20mA/I/O, full voltage starters, VFDs and soft starts.
• Experience troubleshooting OT networking incl. TCP/IP and industrial protocols (PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP).
• 2 years PLC Control Work.

Responsibilities

• Lead skilled-trade staff and contractors to meet daily plant automation needs.
• Coordinate in-house automation repairs and upgrades for mining plant controls.
• Research upgrades to improve safety, efficiency, capacity, consistency and reporting.
• Work with engineering and outside vendors to meet deadlines on capital projects.
• Troubleshoot and support PLCs, HMIs and OITs; provide startup assistance for new projects.
• Maintain standards developed by Automation Engineering; support 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Support local electricians and travel as needed (20–30% overnight).
