Job summary

Mainsail Lodging & Development seeks a Controller to oversee finance and accounting for a portfolio of vacation rental properties and condo associations in Florida. You will report to the VP of Finance and lead a staff accountant, managing month-end close, owner distributions, AR/AP, tax compliance, budgeting, and financial controls.

The role partners with Operations, condo boards, and vacation rental owners to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls across properties in

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with 7+ years of accounting experience.
• Vacation rental accounting experience, including trust accounting, is highly preferred.
• Condominium association accounting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly vacation rental owner distribution statements and payments.
• Oversee Accounts Receivable activities including condominium association and intercompany billing, collections, and reconciliation.
• Oversee Accounts Payable activities.
• Oversee the month-end financial close process and ensure activities are completed accurately and on deadlines.
• Review and coordinate the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reporting packages.
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are complete and well-documented.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and unusual transactions.
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with policies.
