Job summary

Mainsail Lodging & Development is seeking a Controller to oversee the finance and accounting for a portfolio of vacation rental properties and condominium associations on Anna Maria Island and in Tampa, Florida.

You will lead the accounting staff, manage month-end close, owner distributions, A/R/A/P, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, partnering with operations and association leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Vacation rental accounting experience, including trust accounting, is highly preferred.
• Condominium association accounting experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of month-end financial close and financial reporting processes.
• Ability to oversee accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close and ensure accurate reporting within deadlines.
• Prepare vacation rental owner distribution statements and payments.
• Manage accounts receivable & accounts payable activities and reconciliations.
• Coordinate tax filings and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for portfolios.
• Provide financial analysis to operations, owners, and associations.
• Lead and develop accounting staff and maintain internal controls.
