Job summary

Asset Based Lending, LLC (ABL) based in New Jersey seeks a strategic Controller to lead accounting operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage the books, close, and GAAP reporting, while ensuring regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

The role collaborates closely with FP&A and operational leaders to scale finance infrastructure, tagging entries by product, channel, and branch for deep profitability analysis. ABL emphasizes growth, efficiency, and rigorous controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8–10+ years progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
• NetSuite proficiency required.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and controls mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.
• Ensure accuracy of financial reporting to management, board, and investors.
• Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors.
• Maintain internal controls and regulatory compliance.
• Direct loan accounting operations including origination and servicing.
• Own commission calculations and processing for staff.
