Job summary

Lakeshore Landscaping, a PE-backed landscape maintenance platform serving the Minneapolis metro, seeks a hands-on Controller to own the full accounting function during a growth phase. You will report to senior leadership, manage day-to-day accounting, and serve as the primary liaison for acquisitions.

This high-visibility role requires closing books, building controls, and negotiating post‑closing settlements with sellers. CPA preferred; multi-entity, ASC 805 experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, with Controller or Senior role.
• Experience with acquisition accounting under ASC 805 and opening balance sheets.
• Experience in post‑closing adjustment and working capital determinations.
• GAAP reporting experience for privately held companies; multi-entity familiarity helpful.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close, GAAP financial statements.
• Maintain audit-ready environment and reconcile accounts.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax preparers; manage annual audit.
• Lead acquisition accounting and post-close settlements; balance sheet opening.
• Interface with sellers on post-close determinations and working capital, NP/escrow terms.
