Job summary

Proper Solutions in Palm Desert, CA, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead the accounting team, own financial processes, and partner with the CFO to drive accuracy and timely reporting. You will own NetSuite accounting, inventory valuation and WIP costing, manage month-end close by the fifth business day, and oversee payroll in ADP Workforce Now.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
• 5+ years in accounting/controller roles with financial reporting and close
• Strong NetSuite and ADP Workforce Now experience
• Ability to mentor staff and meet deadlines
• Experience in agriculture/food production or multi-entity environments is helpful

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the accounting team and maintain internal controls
• Own NetSuite accounting, inventory valuation, and costing processes
• Oversee month-end close and financial reporting by the fifth business day
• Coordinate tax and external accountants and risk controls
• Manage payroll review in ADP Workforce Now and HR payroll tax matters
• Partner with HR on payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and recordkeeping
• Collaborate with executives on pricing, ROI decisions and capital investments
• Build and maintain WIP inventory in NetSuite and reconcile to GL
