Our client, a locally owned healthcare organization serving home health, hospice, and home care, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and payroll across five entities in Modesto, CA. Qualifications

• Current or recent Controller-level experience with hands-on accounting.
• Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, close, controls, and audit readiness.
• Multi-entity and intercompany accounting experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Treasury, cash-flow forecasting, working-capital, and payroll experience; Paycom is preferred.
• Experience leading and mentoring accounting staff.
• Personable, adaptable leadership style and the ability to work with different personalities.
• Ability to work on-site in Modesto five days per week initially.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting and close across five entities.
• Manage multi-entity reporting, intercompany activity, reconciliations, and eliminations.
• Strengthen controls to ensure GAAP-compliant records and audit readiness.
• Oversee cash and working capital, including cash-flow forecasting and banking.
• Own payroll, supervising payroll operations with the payroll specialist; Paycom experience preferred.
• Partner with CEO and leadership on budgets, forecasts, and major costs.
• Lead and develop the accounting team and promote accountability.
• Collaborate with billing and operations to scale finance processes.
