Randstad USA is seeking a Controller in Emeryville, California, to lead financial accounting, payroll, tax, compliance, and enterprise risk across a multi-entity healthcare organization with 130 entities and 700 facilities.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree, CPA/CMA, and 15+ years of accounting experience including 5+ years in management and healthcare. Salary ranges from $180,000 to $232,000 per year, with standard work hours 9 to 6.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of accounting experience with 5+ years in management and 5+ years in healthcare.
• Multi-entity/multi-state operations, GAAP, tax strategies, audit management, and partnership accounting.
• CPA or CMA required; MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly/year-end close, revenue/expense analysis, and GAAP financial statement generation across all entities.
• Convert accrual-based statements to cash-basis to calculate net income and partner profit distributions.
• Maintain internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost-allocation methodologies.
• Present financial reports to executive leaders, CFO, and the Board.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors and review state and local filings.
• Review tax returns across federal and state jurisdictions; manage tax engagements and budget allocations.
• Ensure compliance with changing regulations and accurate payroll for all staff.
