GAAP. The ideal candidate has mortgage servicing accounting and MSR expertise, investor reporting experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or Ginnie Mae, and a proven track record building

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 10+ years of senior-level accounting experience within mortgage servicing or closely related financial services segments, including Controller-level experience.
• Significant hands-on knowledge of mortgage servicing accounting and MSRs.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and complex financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with investor reporting requirements associated with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and/or Ginnie Mae.
• Demonstrated experience managing external financial audits, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Previous experience managing and developing accounting teams.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or comparable ERP platforms and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise accounting, payroll, and accounts payable across multiple entities.
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and ensure timely financial reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliation, intercompany accounting, and bank reconciliation processes.
• Oversee cash flow management, disbursement reviews, debt reporting, and lender covenant compliance.
• Serve as primary accounting liaison with external auditors and coordinate audit activities.
• Partner with third-party valuation firms on MSRs and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
• Maintain knowledge of investor and agency reporting requirements (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae).
• Document and communicate management’s positions on current and emerging U.S. GAAP matters.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting professionals; build a high-performing team.
• Support accounting system and ERP optimization initiatives.
