Echelon Fitness is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting function and manage a 12-person team. You will take ownership of financial accuracy and close processes, while building disciplined, high-performing operations across our global entities.

The role requires hands-on leadership, a deep command of U.S. GAAP, and the ability to optimize controls and reporting. Remote candidates with strong leadership and communication skills are welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience including leadership.
• Proven ability to manage and develop an accounting team.
• Strong command of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Hands-on with NetSuite and QuickBooks across multiple entities.
• Experience with inventory-based business models and multiple revenue streams.
• Excellent analytical skills and problem solving.
• Ability to manage competing priorities with accuracy.
• Experience leading remote or distributed teams is a plus.
• Proficiency with AI tools like Claude for analysis and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Lead a 12-person accounting team with clear responsibilities and deadlines.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate reporting.
• Oversee accounting across multiple entities and reconcile timely.
• Maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies.
• Ensure U.S. GAAP compliance and consistent practices.
• Oversee inventory, cost accounting, and revenue recognition.
• Collaborate with finance and business leaders on cash flow and decisions.
• Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors.
• Identify and resolve issues and gaps in processes.
• Improve systems, workflows, and automation for reliability.
• Communicate results, risks, and priorities to senior leadership.
