Job summary

CFS in Northbrook, IL is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting function for a fast-growing, PE-backed manufacturing and distribution company. Hybrid work option may be available after 4–6 months, with a target bonus and direct reporting to the CFO.

Responsibilities include overseeing all accounting activities, building shared services for AP/AR, and mentoring a 3–4 person team, while driving process improvements across acquisitions and system integrations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, manufacturing industry preferred.
• Leadership experience with team oversight and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong ERP systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions across a multi-location business unit.
• Lead and build out shared services for AP/AR across the organization.
• Manage and mentor a team of 3–4, including Accounting Manager and transactional staff.
• Handle month-end close, P&L analysis, vendor spend, aging, DSO, and cash flow reporting.
• Drive process improvement and standardization across acquisitions.
• Support system integrations and ERP enhancements.
