Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services in Canonsburg, PA seeks an experienced Controller to lead daily accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and drive process improvement. This hands-on role emphasizes technical accounting and operational leadership to support accurate financials and strong internal controls.

You will manage month-end close, GAAP-compliant statements, and staff development while partnering with senior leaders to optimize financial workflows and decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years supervising or leading accounting professionals.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll-related accounting, fixed assets, and cash activity.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide management reporting to support leadership decisions.
• Maintain accounting policies, procedures, reconciliations, and internal controls while supporting audit and tax compliance activities.
• Oversee accounting systems, reporting tools, automation initiatives, and process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage, coach, and develop accounting team members while promoting documentation and cross-training.
