Job summary

Studio Gang is seeking an experienced Controller to lead daily financial operations across its US offices (Chicago, New York, San Francisco) and an international office in Paris. The role reports to the CFO/COO and oversees a 3–6 person finance team, ensuring rigorous internal controls and accurate financial reporting for domestic and international entities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with architecture/AE/C industry exposure.
• Experience managing and developing a finance or accounting team.
• Deep knowledge of project-based accounting including WIP, revenue recognition, and project billing.
• Experience managing multi-state payroll and tax compliance across offices.
• Experience with foreign currency transactions and international entity accounting.
• Proficiency in Deltek Vantagepoint or equivalent ERP/accounting platform.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting operations and financial close, including GL, AP, AR, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Lead month-, quarter-, and year-end close for multiple entities and locations.
• Build and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
• Oversee project accounting, budgeting, revenue recognition, and WIP reporting in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Coordinate client billing, collections, and intercompany cost tracking across US and international offices.
• Provide financial reporting, variance analysis, and dashboards for leadership reviews.
