Job summary

Bolt Graphics is a semiconductor startup based in Sunnyvale, CA seeking a Controller to oversee all accounting operations and build scalable finance processes for rapid growth.

You will own the monthly close, GAAP reporting, equity accounting (ASC 718, 409A), and collaborate with leadership on budgeting, audits, and investor reporting in a fast-paced studio-like environment.

Strong QuickBooks expertise, prior controllership experience, and the ability to lead a small finance team are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced QuickBooks experience.
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
• Experience supervising accounting personnel.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to operate independently and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
• Maintain accurate books and records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flows).
• Provide management reporting packages and ensure reconciliations
• Oversee cash management activities and GL management.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including Senior Accountant.
• Oversee Accounts Payable operations and related workflows.
• Review journal entries and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Establish performance expectations and best practices for the accounting function.
• Assist with hiring and development of accounting personnel.
