Job summary

Credit Union of Colorado is seeking a seasoned accounting leader to manage day-to-day operations, lead the month-end close, and ensure GAAP compliance in Denver.

The Controller will oversee investments, prepare regulatory reports, mentor staff, and partner with leaders to drive process improvements and financial integrity across the organization. Certification and leadership experience are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and CPA required.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in leadership.
• Experience in financial services and familiarity with Jack Henry products is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounting operations including month-end close and journal entries.
• Manages accounting for investments and derivatives portfolios.
• Oversees payables and vendor management to ensure obligations are met.
• Prepares regulatory reports (Call Report, FR 2900, Census).
• Leads accounting staff and drives process improvements.
