Job summary

Beier IS in Slidell, LA is seeking a Controller to oversee the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, and control environment. This hands-on leadership role requires building sound policies, maintaining accurate records, managing monthly close, and providing reliable analyses to management.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of guiding accounting staff, coordinating payroll, and partnering with external CPAs and auditors to ensure GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required or equivalent.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, controller/manager level preferred.
• CPA or CPA-track experience preferred.
• Experience supervising accounting staff in a private or family-owned business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely, accurate activities.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, schedules, and management reports.
• Maintain general ledger, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate payroll processing and payroll tax filings with Paylocity and advisers.
