Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking an experienced Controller to own the accounting function and lead a team of 4–5 professionals. This hands-on leadership role focuses on ASC 606 expertise and applies it to complex, project-based client engagements, serving as the firm’s technical accounting authority reporting to the CFO.

You will run the monthly close, own revenue recognition policy, and build a high-performing team that scales with the business, while partnering with FP&A on budgeting and forecasting

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience including Controller or equivalent.
• Expert, hands-on ASC 606 experience across complex multi-element engagements.
• 4+ years directly managing accounting teams and developing staff.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong command of US GAAP and month-end close in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience leading external audits and maintaining internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with a modern ERP (NetSuite, Sage Intacct or similar).
• Clear communicator who can explain technical accounting to non-finance leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting function and lead a team of 4–5 accountants.
• Run the monthly close and maintain internal controls.
• Oversee revenue recognition policy and its application to various engagements.
• Prepare GAAP financial statements and management reporting.
• Lead the external audit and liaise with auditors.
• Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
