Job summary

Liquid AI, a MIT CSAIL spin-out, seeks a senior accounting leader to own the monthly close, set policy positions, and build the controls environment for a fast-growing company. This is a strategic, not a maintenance role, aimed at scaling finance systems and processes.

You will own ASC 606 revenue, ASC 718 stock-based compensation, manage 409A coordination, and drive ERP improvements (NetSuite). You will collaborate with FP&A, Legal, and GTM Finance to ensure accurate financials and SOX

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience in US GAAP environments.
• CPA required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with external audits and SOX controls.
• ERP implementation experience, ideally NetSuite, with integrations.

Responsibilities

• Own the Close: Run the monthly and quarterly close process end-to-end, delivering accurate, well-documented financials.
• Set Technical Accounting Positions: Research and memo ASC 606, ASC 718, and other non-standard transactions.
• Own Equity Compensation Accounting: Manage stock compensation expense, 409A coordination, and cap table reconciliation.
• Architect Controls: Design and implement internal controls that scale with the company and support SOX readiness.
• Own the Tax Process: Manage outsourced tax vendor relationships for income tax and sales/use tax.
• Lead the Annual Audit: Manage external audit relationships and respond to PBC lists and testing.
• Drive Systems & Automation: Evaluate and optimize ERP and adjacent finance systems, automate workflows.
• Partner Cross-Functionally: Align with FP&A, Legal, and GTM Finance on deal terms and revenue contracts.
