Job summary

Trust & Will, a remote-first digital estate planning leader based in the United States, seeks a Controller to guide accounting operations across the company and its subsidiaries. You will own month-end close, tax compliance, internal controls, and the evolving finance tech stack, partnering with FP&A and the CFO on strategic cost management.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in accounting, a high-growth background, and proven ability to scale finance in a fast-moving startup.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in accounting, with 4–5 years in a Controller or leadership role in a high-growth environment.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Proven track record in financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting operations for Trust & Will and subsidiaries.
• Manage month-end close, tax compliance, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to scale operations.
• Lead audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy down to the last detail.
• Manage accounting technology stack and collaborate with FP&A.
• Partner with CFO on cost analysis and financial planning.
• Oversee vendor management and policy compliance.
