Job summary

CB Partners, LLC in the Kansas City metro is seeking a Senior Controller to lead accounting for a major division and partner with operational executives. You’ll own monthly closes, financial reporting, and drive data-driven insights to improve profitability across multi-location operations.

You’ll build and coach a strong accounting team, manage budgeting/forecasting, strengthen internal controls, and deliver actionable analyses to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Approximately 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience preferred.
• Strong foundation in general accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and U.S. GAAP.
• CPA is preferred; public accounting experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the financial performance and accounting activities for a key area of the business.
• Lead, coach, and support accounting team members while staying connected to day-to-day work.
• Drive an accurate and efficient monthly close, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Review results against budget, forecast, and prior periods to understand drivers of performance.
• Turn financial data into clear, useful recommendations for operational leaders.
• Spot emerging cost pressures, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Work with business leaders to improve profitability and operating results.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing financial planning.
• Enhance internal controls and streamline accounting and reporting.
• Build and monitor KPIs for leadership visibility into performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• Approximately 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience preferred
• Strong foundation in general accounting, month‑end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and U.S. GAAP
• Previous experience managing or developing accounting professionals
• Experience within a large, multi‑location is highly valued
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• CPA is preferred

Compensation: $130,000 to $150,000 base
