Job summary

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Sr. Engineer to join the METCON Program at Headquarters near Union Station in Los Angeles. The role leads industrial control system projects, provides technical leadership, and interfaces with Operations, OT, IT, and field teams.

The Sr. Engineer will review designs, manage budgets, and oversee SCADA activities through construction, testing and start-up, while guiding staff and consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with eight years’ experience, two at Engineer level
• Advanced degree in engineering with six years’ experience, two at Engineer level

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle project management for industrial control system initiatives
• Provide technical leadership and oversight to staff and consultants
• Coordinate with Operations, OT, IT, Engineering and Field Technician teams for real-time support
• Review design documents like specifications, P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring and shop drawings
• Prepare labor and materials budgets for projects
• Provide SCADA support during construction, testing, commissioning and start-up
• Lead, schedule and train staff
• Ensure compliance with standards and safety requirements
