Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking a Sr. Engineer at Headquarters, adjacent to Union Station, to lead and manage complex control-system upgrade projects.

You will provide technical leadership and coordinate with Operations, OT, IT, and engineering teams across multiple plants through the METCON program. Qualified candidates hold an engineering degree with eight years of experience (two at Engineer level) or an advanced degree with six years (two at Engineer level)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in engineering as required.
• Eight years of increasing responsibility, with two at Engineer level or six years with advanced degree, two at Engineer level.
• Relevant experience includes industrial control systems, project management and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage full lifecycle project management for industrial control system initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership, expertise and oversight to staff and consultants.
• Coordinate with Operations, OT, IT, Engineering and Field Technician teams for real-time support.
• Review design documents including specifications, P&IDs, electrical schematics, wiring, plans and shop drawings.
• Review and prepare labor and materials budgets for all projects.
• Provide SCADA support and oversight during construction, testing, commissioning and start-up.
• Lead, schedule, assign tasks and mentor staff.
