Job summary

Express Employment Professionals-Farmingdale, NY is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead and manage the in-house Control Panel Shop. This role requires strong technical expertise in industrial control panel design, fabrication, and leadership of technicians.

You will design and draft small industrial control systems using AutoCAD Electrical, select and procure components, program PLCs and HMIs, and ensure UL 508A compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent design and industrial control experience.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical for control system design.
• Hands-on experience designing, assembling, and testing industrial control panels.
• Experience programming PLCs and HMIs; familiarity with VFD setup and testing.
• Familiarity with UL 508A standards and certified panel shop processes.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to guide technicians and interact with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Control Panel Shop to ensure quality fabrication.
• Design and draft control systems using AutoCAD Electrical including BOMs.
• Select, specify, and procure components for panel builds.
• Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs for various applications.
• Ensure UL 508A compliance and conduct factory testing of panels.
• Supervise and mentor Panel Shop Technicians; collaborate with Sales and SAP users.
