Job summary

HDR in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead the planning, design, and implementation of automated industrial control systems across multiple sectors. You will coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions for construction and implementation, including design reviews and commissioning.

You will mentor junior staff and contribute to HDR’s Control Systems Technical Leadership Team, advancing standards and growth while supporting HDR’s

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, electrical, or computer engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer license (PE or P.Eng).
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
A minimum of 10 years of applicable experience.
Commitment to employee-owned culture is required.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, design, and implementation of automated industrial control systems.
Coordinate with clients and multidiscipline design teams through all stages (schematic, design development, construction).
Develop biddable and technically accurate control system construction documents (P&IDs, loop diagrams, etc.).
Review shop drawings and participate in construction observation and commissioning.
Mentor junior staff and drive technical leadership within the control systems discipline.
