Job summary

Xcimer Energy seeks a Control Systems Architect for its Denver, CO headquarters to shape the plant's control system from concept to detailed design. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
• Typically 10+ years of experience in control systems engineering for large facilities.
• Knowledge of PLC/DCS, safety instrumented systems, SCADA/HMI, industrial networks, and plant historians.
• Experience creating control requirements, interface control documents, control narratives, and architecture descriptions.
• Ability to work independently on complex problems and communicate architecture decisions clearly.
• Willingness to travel 10–20% between Denver HQ and future plant site.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain the plant control system architecture: safety, real-time, and supervisory control layers; network segmentation; timing and data capture.
• Develop control system requirements and interface definitions across major plant systems through design reviews.
• Contribute hands‑on controls and instrumentation design within other plant systems.
• Evaluate and select control platforms, protocols, and standards; build prototypes to retire risk early.
• Support the control systems director with trade studies, analyses, and design review materials.
