Job summary

Xcimer Energy, Denver-based leader in inertial fusion energy, seeks a Program Director for Plant Control Systems. You will own the Plant Control System program, drive integration across subsystems, and coordinate with architects, SMEs, and directors to ensure alignment with safety, operational, and program milestones.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in large, complex technical programs involving automation or energy systems.
• Experience in industrial automation or plant-wide control systems.
• Experience in fusion, nuclear energy, or high-energy physics environments.
• Safety-critical or high-reliability systems experience.
• Experience with precision timing or data acquisition systems.
• Proven program management or systems leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of system integration, interface control, and requirements flow down.
• Experience with fusion, nuclear energy, or industrial control systems at scale.
• Knowledge of distributed control systems, historians, SCADA architectures, and electrical power management.
• Ability to lead without direct people management authority.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the Plant Control System program within the IFE Fusion Plant architecture.
• Coordinate cross-functional work across Laser, Chamber, Fusion Power, Fuel Processing, and other subsystems for integrated controls.
• Maintain a program-wide understanding of control interfaces and synchronization with evolving designs.
• Manage budgets, resources, schedules, risks, and performance metrics.
