Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience delivering automation or control system integration projects.
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi platforms.
  • Experience with electrical hardware design (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN preferred).
  • Proven background across the full project lifecycle, from design through programming, installation, and commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience with drives, motion control, and servo systems.
  • Familiarity with packaging, filling, or process automation systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

  • Programming and configuring PLCs and HMIs for automated filling and packaging machinery.
  • Designing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical control panels and schematics.
  • Supporting installation, testing, and commissioning at customer sites.
  • Implementing system upgrades and performance improvements for existing machinery.
  • Interpreting customer specifications and developing tailored control solutions.
  • Collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and project engineering teams to deliver fully integrated automation systems.

Salary – $100,000 - $130,000 base salary per annum (dependent on experience)

Location - Philadelphia, PA

My client is a well-established Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of packaging machinery, specializing in the design and build of liquid filling and bottling systems for the food, beverage, and consumer goods industries.

As part of their continued growth, they are looking to bring on an experienced Senior Control Systems Engineer on a permanent basis to support automation projects across their production lines and customer sites.

This role offers the opportunity to join a stable, growing organization and take ownership of control system design, programming, and commissioning for high-speed packaging and filling equipment, with exposure to both new machinery builds and system upgrades.

The Senior Control Systems Engineer will have the following attributes:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering automation or control system integration projects.
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming using Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi platforms.
