Job summary

Axle in Rockville, MD seeks a Contracts Operations Manager to lead a team handling contract administration from post-award through closeout. You will build scalable processes, oversee priorities, and ensure cross-functional accountability with BD, PM, Finance, and Legal. This role requires in-person presence at our Rockville, MD office.

The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day operations, drive automation, and maintain compliance with FAR-based terms across government and commercial contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Contract Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of contracts administration or contracts operations experience, including Government contracting.
• 2–3 years directly managing or supervising a team.
• Working knowledge of FAR and related supplements.
• Ability to coordinate across functions (BD, PM, Finance, Legal) to drive contract execution.
• Experience implementing automation or new systems to improve operations.
• Hands-on approach to complex or escalated items.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day contract administration execution to meet deliverables, deadlines, and compliance.
• Set team KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and support hiring and coaching.
• Escalate and resolve cross-functional issues, keeping teams accountable.
