Job summary

UES is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead commercial and contractual matters for complex engineering and construction projects. You will work with executives, project managers, finance, legal, procurement, and operations to guide contracts, mitigate risk, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

This role involves reviewing and negotiating a variety of contracts, maintaining compliance, and supporting pre- and post-award activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Law, Contract Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of contract management/administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts including professional service agreements, subcontracts, NDAs, purchase orders, and amendments.
• Ensure contracts comply with internal policies, insurance, regulatory guidelines, and best practices.
• Collaborate with project managers, business development, and legal counsel to identify contractual risks.
• Maintain a centralized contracts database to monitor terms, renewals, deliverables, and compliance.
• Interpret contract terms and advise internal stakeholders on obligations and impacts.
• Support pre-award and post-award activities including proposal review and bid coordination.
• Assist in developing and improving contract templates, processes, and workflows.
• Coordinate with finance and operations to ensure billing terms and revenue recognition alignment.
• Train staff on contract policies and procedures.
• Stay current on laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting contracting.
• Assist accounting with contract-related billing, lien waivers, and project close-outs.
• Liaise with insurers regarding contractual insurance compliance.
• Foster relationships with clients and partners through effective contract management.
