Job summary

Southern Company Services in Birmingham, AL seeks a Contracts Administrator III to provide contracting, strategic sourcing, negotiation, and procurement support for services, software, SaaS, subscriptions, and hardware.

This role will manage sourcing and contracting from initial request through closeout, ensure favorable terms, legal compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with procurement policies, and collaborate with Legal, Risk, Finance, IT Security, and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience drafting and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
• Knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and dispute resolution.
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and NDAs.
• Manage approximately 20–25 active sourcing and contracting projects concurrently.
• Lead sourcing for services, software, SaaS, hardware.
• Support the contracting lifecycle from RFI/RFP to closeout, including evaluations and cost/price analysis.
• Negotiate software license, SaaS, subscription, and technology equipment agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal, cybersecurity, data privacy, and supplier risks.
• Collaborate with Legal, Risk Management, Finance, IT Security, and internal teams.
• Improve contract terms and procurement efficiency.
• Conduct market research to identify domestic and global suppliers.
