Placements24 is seeking a Senior Legal Officer - Contracts to oversee a large contract portfolio in a fully remote US-wide role. You will guide negotiation, risk assessment, and compliance across commercial agreements, providing strategic advice to business units and senior leadership.

Ideal candidates bring SA High Court admission with 6+ years in contract law, expertise in drafting and negotiating complex contracts, and proficiency with contract management tools for remote teams.

Qualifications

• Bar admission and minimum 6 years of contract-law experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong understanding of commercial law, governance and risk management.
• Remote-work experience and ability to mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead review, drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements (MSAs, partnerships, licenses).
• Provide expert legal advice on terms, risks, liabilities and compliance to senior management and operations.
• Develop standardized contract templates and efficient management processes.
• Oversee contract lifecycle management, including renewals and amendments.
• Manage and resolve contractual disputes with mitigation strategies.
• Stay updated on contract-law developments and ensure policies reflect best practices remotely.
