Job summary

University of Miami seeks a Contracts and Grants Officer 2 to independently negotiate research contracts and ensure compliance with sponsor requirements and UM policies. You will support a portfolio of departments, providing guidance on policies, regulations, and terms to faculty and staff.

You will collaborate with IRB, Risk Management, Tech Transfer, Export Control, and General Counsel to manage sponsored projects efficiently, while safeguarding University assets and staying updated on

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; Advanced degree preferred.
• CRA credential preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3 years of contracting experience, including sponsored research, unfunded collaborations, and outbound subawards.

Responsibilities

• Drafts, reviews, analyzes, and negotiates terms and conditions for research contracts in line with University guidelines.
• Provides guidance and advice to faculty and staff on sponsored research administration, interpreting policies and regulations.
• Collaborates with IRB, Risk Management, Technology Transfer, Export Control, General Counsel, and other offices to manage sponsored projects efficiently.
• Adheres to University policies and protects University assets; stays current with regulatory changes affecting contracts.
