Job summary

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join the Contracts & Acquisitions unit. You will draft and review contracts, negotiate terms with vendors, and provide legal guidance on government procurement and related processes.

The position is based in Columbus, Ohio and is full-time, exempt from unionization. Ideal candidates have admission to the Ohio Bar, at least 3 years as a licensed attorney, and experience in substantive legal areas relevant to a state

Qualifications

• Admission to Ohio Bar and 36+ months as licensed attorney.
• 18 months in at least one substantive legal area relevant to the employing agency.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review contracts, inter-agency agreements, grants, RFPs and procurement docs.
• Negotiate contract terms with vendors and state/local entities.
• Oversee Contracts and Acquisitions staff.
• Collaborate with ODM staff and escalate topics to Chief Legal Counsel.
• Draft Controlling Board submissions and legal opinions.
• Advise on government procurement rules and processes.
