Job summary

Deluxe Corporation is seeking a Manager in Contracting to lead day-to-day contracting for assigned business units, including drafting, redlines, RFP/RFI support, and negotiations. You will supervise staff, coach team members, and ensure work is done with speed, quality, and risk awareness across Legal, Sales, Finance, and Compliance.

You will help develop repeatable contracting positions, improve playbooks, and ensure proper approvals before signature.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Legal, Business or related field with 7+ years in drafting, redlining, negotiating, RFP support, contract operations and staff supervision or leadership.
• HS/GED with 9+ years in drafting, redlining, negotiating, RFP support, contract operations and staff supervision or leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day contracting activity for assigned business units, including intake prioritization, contract drafting, redlines, RFP/RFI review, negotiation support, escalation management, and signature readiness.
• Supervise staff: coaching, training, workload balancing, performance feedback and development planning to improve negotiation judgment and document quality.
• Review, draft, redline and negotiate complex customer, partner, vendor, data, financial services and B2B agreements with cross-functional coordination.
• Support RFP/RFI processes by reviewing terms, identifying non-standard requirements, coordinating approvals, and clarifying contract positions.
• Own and improve contract playbooks, guidance, templates, and escalation rules across units; promote repeatable positions for common issues.
