Job summary

Jobtailor in Minneapolis is seeking a senior contracts professional to lead day-to-day contracting for multiple business units, manage negotiations and redlines, and ensure timely approvals and signature readiness.

You will coach staff, balance workloads, and drive improvements in contract playbooks, templates, and escalation paths while coordinating with Legal, Finance, and Sales for complex customer and vendor agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Legal, Business or related field with 7 years of drafting, redlining, negotiating, RFP support, contract operations, and staff supervision or team leadership.
• OR HS/GED with 9 years of drafting, redlining, negotiating, RFP support, contract operations, and staff supervision or team leadership.
• Strong written communication, attention to detail, negotiation judgment, business judgment, stakeholder management, workload management, and ability to coach others on high-quality documents, issue spotting, redlines, and efficient contract processes.
• Experience with complex customer redlines, negotiations, RFP/RFI contracting, bank or financial institution contracting, check, lockbox, B2B, promotional, pricing schedules, amendments, SOWs, and regulated customer agreements.
• Experience with data contracts, merchant services, DPAs, credit bureau agreements, privacy/data-use terms, security terms, audit rights, pricing schedules, amendments, and SOWs.
• Preferred: JD, MBA, paralegal certificate, contract management certification, or equivalent advanced contracting experience.
• Preferred: 10+ years’ experience negotiating commercial, customer, partner, vendor, financial services, data, merchant services, credit bureau, or other regulated agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day contracting support for assigned Deluxe business units
• Manage contract negotiations, complex negotiations, redlines, RFP/RFI support, staff supervision, approvals, and signature readiness
• Prioritize intake, route work appropriately, prioritize business-critical deals, and maintain required contracting speed
• Coach, train, balance workloads, provide performance feedback, support development planning, and conduct quality reviews for assigned staff
• Review, draft, redline, and negotiate complex customer, partner, vendor, data, financial services, and business-to-business agreements
• Identify legal, commercial, privacy, data-use, operational, financial, liability, pricing, and regulatory issues and coordinate with Legal and subject matter experts
• Support high-value deals as required
• Review proposed customer terms for RFP/RFI processes, identify non-standard requirements, coordinate approvals, and help assess contractual risk
• Own and improve contract playbooks, clause guidance, templates, fallback positions, approval paths, and escalation rules
• Partner with Contract Administration, Contract Implementation, Legal, Finance, Sales, Product, Compliance, InfoSec, and Operations to complete reviews and approvals before signature
• Resolve process gaps, unclear ownership, stale templates, inconsistent approval practices, and other contracting issues
