Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin seeks a Contract Specialist IV to manage procurement and a full contract lifecycle for designated programs.

You will draft amendments, review RFPs/RFOs, monitor contractor performance, and act as the primary liaison between vendors and HHSC staff. A bachelor’s degree is required, telework may be available, and certification within 12 months is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Completeness of application.
• Must have graduated from an accredited university or college with a bachelor's degree.
• Applicants without a degree may substitute relevant experience on a year for year basis up to four (4) years.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience, including contract management, monitoring, and oversight.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive contract management for assigned contracts and develops related procedures.
• Develops and maintains contracting procedures and monitoring plans.
• Reviews contractor performance data and enforces sanctions as needed.
• Establishes effective working relationships with HHSC staff and stakeholders.
• Participates and/or leads procurement processes; drafts and revises procurement documents.
