Job summary

Texas A&M International in Austin seeks a Contract Specialist V to lead complex procurement and contract activities. You will develop policies, oversee service and commodity contracts, negotiate terms, monitor post-award performance, and ensure regulatory compliance across agency initiatives.

The role requires a strong background in procurement, negotiation, and leadership, with proven ability to guide teams, interpret contracts, and ensure accurate documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's preferred in related field.
• Six years' full-time purchasing, contracting or contract management experience.
• Experience with high-dollar, highly complex contracts and RFP/RFO processes preferred.
• CTCD and CTCM certifications required or to be attained within 11 months of hire.
• Regulatory knowledge of contracting regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and interpret procurement and contract administration policies.
• Oversee development of service and commodity contracts and negotiate terms.
• Oversee pre-award and post-award activities, monitor performance and billings.
• Resolve contract issues and concerns.
• Oversee negotiations of renewals, amendments, and plan changes.
• Review specifications and coordinate procurement documents and evaluation tools.
• Provide technical assistance on contract administration and policies.
• Plan, assign, and supervise the work of others.
• Monitor contracting regulations and ensure compliance.
• Identify training needs and arrange training delivery.
• Attend work regularly and adhere to attendance policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
