Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead Continuous Improvement (LCI) on the Chandler, AZ project to lead CI initiatives, develop risk-based strategies, and drive value across engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and operations. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions, governance of CI tools, and building a culture of continuous improvement within the project team.

The LCI will mentor, coordinate, and measure improvements with PQM, delivering measurable efficiency, productivity, and quality

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
• Recognized Six Sigma Black Belt (certified)
• Experience with continuously improving Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Operations work processes and business areas; or advanced experience optimizing complex industrial processes, systems or organizations
• Extensive experience supervising direct reports
• Experience achieving measurable continuous improvement results through influence management, soft skills in a leadership position with ability to achieve change and results by shaping the attitudes and viewpoints of individuals and teams
• Trained in Kaizen and / or Lean methodologies
• Trained in team facilitation techniques
• Trained in Causal Analysis techniques
• Experience applying a structured approach to process analysis and problem solving
• Experience establishing, monitoring, and analyzing data and reporting results to PQM and other management.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in the use of a PC computer, Microsoft software, database administration, Visio (or equivalent) and Minitab
• Must be a U.S Citizen
• Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a continuous improvement program and risk-based strategy to meet project goals
• Manage and supervise a CI team conducting Continuous Improvement activities
• Manage the project corrective action system
• Prepare reports on CI program effectiveness
• Communicate with Functions to meet CI goals
• Scope, plan, select CI tools
• Analyze data from processes and metrics across projects
• Conduct data analysis and develop performance metrics
• Monitor and use metrics to drive CI activities
• Develop Quality incident criteria for RCAs and facilitate analysis
• Facilitate causal analysis and root-cause evaluations
• Develop and deliver CI workshops and training
• Input into standardized performance indicators
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through collaboration and knowledge sharing
