Horizontal Digital is seeking a Senior Content Strategist to lead content strategy initiatives for Fortune 500-scale clients. You will work across strategy, UX, development, and project management to shape and execute scalable content programs that drive measurable business results.

You will guide discovery through execution, optimize content based on performance data, and collaborate with SEO and analytics teams to improve findability and engagement.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of content strategy experience, ideally within an agency or consulting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
• Proficiency with content management systems, keyword research tools, and SEO fundamentals.
• Willingness and ability to apply AI-driven techniques to the content strategy process to drive efficiencies.
• Strong storytelling and content presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Advanced organizational and time-management abilities.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace tools, and analytics platforms.
• Experience with Agile methodology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and articulate a clear, strategic point of view for content that aligns with brand identity, business goals, and user needs.
• Lead content strategy deliverables from discovery through execution and subsequent optimization phases across client engagements.
• Analyze performance data and user behavior to uncover insights that inform content decisions and optimization opportunities.
• Conduct industry and competitive reviews to identify content gaps and strategic opportunities.
• Perform detailed content audits and gap analyses to evaluate performance against business objectives.
• Build and maintain content inventories to support site migration planning, information architecture design, and content governance.
• Partner with SEO specialists to integrate search best practices into content strategies.
• Collaborate with the Practice Lead to grow the content strategy discipline, contributing to service offerings, tools, and team development.
